In Australia, all Keolis Downer operations have been audited and are now certified to the International Standards for Safety, Quality and Environment.

The certification for KD Bus, Yarra Trams and G:link had been achieved previously, with Keolis Downer’s newest operation Keolis Downer Hunter (the proud operator of Newcastle Transport) obtained certification in mid-2020.

It is a great achievement for the Keolis Downer business as these certifications demonstrate the compliance to the International Standards and recognises the maturity of Keolis Downer businesses and operations.

Keolis Downer is already a leader in multimodal public transport, and this continues to set an example in the industry by benchmarking its operations against an internationally recognised minimum standard.

The certification provides formal recognition of management processes, ensures consistency across the businesses and drives efficiencies and continuous improvement.

This now sets the framework for ongoing improvement in everything that we do from customer service, safety, operational performance and how we work together across the businesses to deliver the best service for our customers across Australia.

This will be a key point of advantage as we work to grow the Keolis Downer business in Australia and New Zealand by providing external assurance to public transport authorities of our commitment to improved performance and continuous improvement

Each Keolis Downer operation will continue to undergo annual surveillance and certification audits to maintain certification. 

KD Bus, Yarra Trams and Gold Coast Light Rail) are certified for:

• ISO9001 – Quality Management Systems
• ISO45001 – Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (G:link are currently transitioning from the Australian standard to the International standard in 2021)
• ISO14001 – Environmental Management Systems
